Season 2026, the 31st season of the Enigma Group.

Under the title "The Principle of Violence ," the Enigma Group champions imagination through the conjuring of noise as a musical element. More than twenty works and guest artists participate to confirm, as essayist Ramón Andrés reminds us, that all imagination begins with the ear.

Season tickets on sale from December 15th to January 18th.

CONCert 1 | SEASON 31 ‘EL PRINCIPIO DE LA VIOLENCIA’

UN INSTANTE ANTERIOR AL TIEMPO

This program brings together Sergej Newski , Carola Bauckholt , Fausto Romitelli , Pauline Oliveros , Luigi Russolo , David Lynch , and Alan Splet in a journey exploring “the relationship with noise and our time,” following Luigi Russolo’s idea of ​​“a new palette of sounds” and the presence of “urban and industrial noises.” Asier Puga conducts a concert featuring “different temporalities and materials,” a “dense noise haze,” and a tribute to Angelo Badalamenti.

This program, featuring writings by Oscar Wilde , includes works by Franz Liszt , Arnold Schoenberg , Hanns Eisler , and Felipe González Bustamante , winner of the 6th Juan José Olives Young Composers Competition, in a space where “surface and symbol” intersect with “post-Romantic echoes,” “dissonance,” and “a true turning point.” Anton Webern ’s arrangement and Eisler ’s homage to Schoenberg complete the concert.

Benjamin Britten , Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Manuel de Falla form the basis of a program that ranges from Friday Afternoons to El canto de los adolescentes (The Song of the Adolescents ). This program features the original 1915 version of El Amor Brujo (Love, the Magician) with the participation of flamenco singer and multidisciplinary artist Niño de Elche and the Amici Musicae Children's Choir , directed by Isabel Solano , in a concert conducted by Asier Puga.

Eduardo Polonio , Luis de Pablo , Javier Aguirre , Horacio Vaggione , and Carlos Satué star in a program that explores Estudio Alea, "the first electronic music laboratory in Spain," alongside works created in Madrid during the 1970s. Pieces such as " El replinatorio en el tejado de la vieja abadía" (The Kneeler on the Roof of the Old Abbey) and " Viaje " (Journey) , featuring flautist Fernando Gómez , are featured , as well as "anti-cinema works" that pushed sound and image "to their very limits."

Peter Ablinger , José Manuel López López, and Chaya Czernowin present a program featuring Instrumente und Rauschen , La pluma de Hu , and Seltene Erde: alchimia communicationis , performed by Evan Hulbert and conducted by Asier Puga . Between “white noise,” “a living, almost biological entity,” and an ensemble that forms “a single body in constant transformation,” the concert unfolds as a listening experience permeated by “invisible forces.”
